    Terms of Participation

    • Applications are currently being accepted. We appreciate receiving applications by August 31 or earlier. A jury will decide on each application, and you will be notified by e-mail of the jury’s decision.
    • After you receive your acceptance notification, please send your payment to finalize your registration. The participation fee for the entire month (4-31 October), creating new pieces on-site, is €800. If you come only for the Sasukenei-Smokeless-Kiln firing (15-31 October), bringing your pieces with you, the fee is €400. Should cancellation be necessary, the fee is refundable minus an €85 cancellation fee.
      • this participation fee includes studio use during your stay and firing costs.
    • Additional costs:
      • cost of materials used (e.g. clay, glazes)
      • travel to/from Wittgendorf (complimentary pick-up from a nearby train station can be arranged)
      • accommodation – we can recommend several nearby guesthouses and will send you this information with your acceptance notice (early booking is recommended)
      • we eat together – the costs are shared among participants during the workshop (all on-site meals are gluten-free; please let us know of any other dietary needs)
    • If the symposium must be cancelled due to a virus or other unavoidable situation, the next symposium will take place in October 2022. Any fees already paid for 2021 will be refunded, minus a processing fee of €85.
